If we can compare the efficiency of MRI and ultrasound according to our experience, then our conclusion is that ultrasound can have a bigger efficiency in these areas in comparison with MRI.
the tendon of the long head of the biceps (masterful diagnostics of exudative tenovaginitides)
the articular capsule of the glenohumeral articulation – synovitides and articular hydropses
the acromioclavicular articulation – with regarding to anatomical rates and size of this articulation, ultrasound seems to be the only method able to diagnose sufficiently clearly the acromioclavicular synovitis!!! |
On the other hand, MRI is incomparable at diagnosis of impigement syndrome where the ultrasound examination is insufficient.
