Examination of the Patient

Systematic examination of the whole patient is important for an elimination of transmitted pains into the area of the shoulder joint. From this reason it is necessary to examine not only the shoulder, but also f. e. the parts of the body the illnesses of which can manifest themselves by irradiation of the pain into this joint. See pseudoradicular syndrome and an illness of enterocoele and thoracic organs. It is necessary to examine both shoulders simultaneously, to compare their muscular strength, sensitiveness, reflexes, extension of the movement and stability in a view of differences of the dominant limb. At least an informative neurological examination is necessary to be made, especially in the cases of a suspicion of vertebrogenic etiology of the problems. We cannot forget the examination of a periphery pulsation.
