Pathological states in the area of the bursa are most frequently inflammations of bursae, i.e. bursitis evoked by rheumatoid affections. Another big group are traumas with a development of traumatic bursitis or a bleeding into the bursa. Without regarding to etiology, the bursae react on a pathological stimulus only by several ways:
